A Life Update and An Announcement

100 DaysToday, the Hubster and I are celebrating 14 happy years of marriage! And we’re also celebrating 100 days until we’re homeward bound to our family and friends! Living in Europe for the last three years has been such an incredible adventure and education. It has kept me busy, and although it’s been an incredibly inspiring time, I haven’t always been the best at blogging regularly.

Over the last year and a half or so, I’ve been very leisurely about how often I post here to the blog, and to be honest, it’s been great. We traveled so much, and had family to stay on more than one occasion. We also faced a couple of health ordeals for our pup, Loki. Now, the travels are done, our family is home, and Loki is healthy and snug. Under those circumstances, you would think that it’s time I spent some time cultivating ideas and projects to share with you all here. Except my computer is officially dead. I can no longer upload and edit any of my photography for my recipes and craft ideas.

Obviously, I’ll be replacing my computer, but with only 100 days left here, it’s not something that’s going to happen until we are home and settled back into the States. Our movers are actually coming to pack up all of our household goods one month from now, and we’re off to a hotel for over two months of living out of suitcases. While our travels are over, our adventures sure aren’t!

And so today, I’m announcing my official hiatus from full-time blogging. I’m sure it seems moot at this point, since I haven’t posted anything new since December, but the truth is that this is a hiatus. This is not permanent. I needed the last year and a half to explore and venture out and spend with family, and I kept in touch with you guys. Now, though, I simply don’t have the time and resources to maintain Bakingdom until we are in our new home. Fortunately, that’s only going to be a few months. We will be moved in by the end of June, and we hope to be settled by the end of July.

In the meantime, I will still be sharing tidbits of life, adventure, treats, crafts, geekery, and Lokiness on my social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram). You can follow along there for updates on our move and other fun stuff. I hope to see you guys there.

You guys are the most amazing people in the land, and I’m incredibly fortunate to have you visit. I truly appreciate your understanding and patience at this time, and I look forward to getting back into the swing of things as quickly as possible!

:)
